I've still been stitching up stock with my trusty embroidery machine. My hard working Janice Janome. It's amazing how she can go on and on for hours each day.
Here are the latest quilted notebook/journal covers:
And a tissue box cover:
I'm not liking the way this embroidery pattern file stitches a perfect square. The Kleenex logo at the bottom is allowed to show and it seems as if the cover is too small. I'm going to check if the generic brands of tissue boxes are smaller and willl fit better. If not, I plan to lengthen the pattern to fit the Kleenex size boxes. I'm picky like that. I think I'll also play around with adding different design files to the sides of the cover. It's boring for me to stitch 4 of the same design; one for each side. We'll see what I come up with in between the knitting.
Gryphon continues to do well; eating lots and putting his weight back on. He is happy and inquisitive once again and I'm just over the moon happy about his progress. Consequently, I've started feeling less stressed and picked up my knitting again. I'm finishing a lovely bamboo sleeveless top I may enter in the fair. It has lots of different elongated and dropped stitches and I'm quite happy with the results so far. The drape of the bamboo is lovely and it's a deep rust color. I only have to knit the button bands and sew on the buttons to finish; so as long as Gryphon continues to do well, I'll probably have the desire to finish it. I also have about 12" left on the border of a ginormous circular lace shawl in a soft merino/silk I planned on entering in the fair. Who knows? Maybe that will get finished as well. Fingers crossed.
Thought for the day: I gave up artificial fibers and I’m on the lamb…..
