I finished the Daisy Shawlette but did not bind off. This is in her unblocked state and is, well, a shawlette. I am going to leave it on the needles for when the added instructions come out to make it larger. I really love the color changes in the handspun and the amber beads give just enough subtle sparkle when they catch the light. I think beginning of July is when the further instructions will be released. Until then, here she is:
Below is a swatch for practicing nupps for the Back To The Garden summer project KAL. This is not the swatch of the actual shawl but just to practice nupps and see if we like our yarn choice and beads and if our yarn will cooperate with making nupps. I like my choices and will now knit the actual shawl swatch with this yarn and beads. It is Jaggerspun Zephyr 50/50 wool/silk.
It was a good idea to do this practice swatch because I got to try two different methods of making the nupps. The larger nupps on the bottom are one method and the smaller nupps on the top are another method. I like the smaller ones so will go with that method. The beads are ever so tiny; so even though there are a lot of them, they will not be too heavy.
So I'm over my frolic in the frog pond and moving on to firm ground once again.
