Finished Leaf Shawl

This is my version of the 22 leaves shawlette KAL.  I have expanded it to 72 leaves and made it longer so it is truly a regular shawl size.  I really love it.  You can't see the subtle rust heather highlights in the yarn but it makes it nice and autumny.  The wool/silk blend is wonderfully soft and feels heavenly on bare shoulders.

I have to confess my adaptation of this shawl is a goof.  I thought I understood the directions for lengthening it but didn't and it was supposed to come out straight across at the bottom; but since I didn't see that part of the directions I kept increasing the sections equally which made it flare out rounded.  But I SO love it!  My mistake has become a design element and I couldn't be happier.

I have the border edging left to finish on Fern Glade and then that shawl will be done as well. I had intended to finish it on my trip in the mountains but ended up knitting practically the whole 22 leaves shawlette it was so addictive.  I ordered some autumn colors variegated tencel for an entrelac leaf shawl but after swatching realized the color repeats are not long enough to make complete squares and I don't like it striped so that yarn will be reserved for another project.  It's gorgeous yarn and you can see all the tencel at Yarntopia Treasures etsy shop or their main website.  I got the Wisconsin colorway.  It just screams autumn to me!  Isn't it just gorgeous?

And here is a picture of Teagan and her brother Giovanni.  I just love this pic, they are SO cute together.

Thought for the day:  Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how popular it remains?
