Another Catch Up

Well, it has been another two month lapse since my last post.  It just seems there are not enough hours in the day.  Juggling the cleaning jobs, teaching, sewing for the etsy shop AND Zephyr's ongoing classes have me busy every minute of every day.  I have enjoyed many snow days the last two months though, which I've been grateful for.  We all need a breather once in a while.
Zephyr has been having a blast with his new obedience classes.  He has made a wonderful doggie friend he plays with after class and finally gets tired out - for one evening anyway.  He no longer gets sick in the car, which I'm VERY happy about.  Thank goodness for rubber coated seat protectors!!!  Today he starts a new adventure and begins agility!  I'm so excited to get him going with this.   I just know he will love it.  Woohoo!
Let me fill you in on one night's adventure at obedience class.  We had an awesome class.  He was doing spectacular at long stay across the room until I called him, which he came right to me and sat in front of me.   I was beaming like the proud doggie mom I am.  He had some play time with Duncan (I hope I can get some pics of them together for the blog) and we were tidying up putting away stray toys and such.  Zephyr caught sight of a toy we had used during class for a distraction and figured since class was over maybe he could play with it.  He ran off with it and I caught up to him, told him to drop it (which he did) and bent over to pick it up.  At the same time his head came up and collided with my front tooth and:
Yikes!  His hard head broke off a huge chunk of tooth!  The sound was so loud.  It was like the sound of someone's head hitting the ice.  All of a sudden there was dead silence while everyone looked around to see what happened.  I felt the impact and it didn't hurt; but when everybody looked at me my tongue found the broken edge and oh oh!  It only hurt when I breathed in or drank hot or cold liquids but I had it fixed two days later because a good deal of the nerve was then exposed.  Good as new now.

What an adventure it is raising an Aussie pup!  I don't fault Zephyr though.  He had no idea what happened.  Now we have 'protect your teeth' jokes in class around Zephyr.  Poor boy, he really is a good dog.  How can you be mad at this face?

Ah well, he gets better every day.  Let's see how agility agrees with him.
On the crafting front I've knit myself a pair of cashmere gloves,

Designed and submitted two baby thermals for possible publication in the upcoming Baby One Skein Wonders book (keep your fingers crossed for me they get accepted)

sewn a bunch of yarn pockets, black and white sheep versions,

made an assortment of stitch markers for the shop,
and worked some more on finishing up another knitting work in progress that has been languishing on the needles for too long.   More on that in a future post when I have pics to share.
This weekend I'll be in Maine for SPA, which is a knitting and spinning weekend with lots of vendors to browse all forms of stash enhancement.  I'll be staying with a friend In Portland I made at the Maine Knitting Pipeline retreat and am really looking forward to the break.
Thought for the day:  He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.  You are his life, his love, his leader.  He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.  You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.  ---  unknown
