Sipalu Finally Lined (and some babble)

I've finally lined the sipalu bag I finished knitting ages ago.  This will be a fair entry so I had good motivation to get it done.  I knit different handles than the pattern called for and the second pic shows the reverse side of the handle.  The pattern called for two i-cords and I thought this would be sturdier as my experience with i-cord is that it would stretch with any weight in the bag.  I fused two sides of muslin together and put pockets on each side.  It helps keep the shape of the bag being so stiff so hopefully there will not be stress on the stitches of knitting.

I am keeping busy as best I can to keep my mind off Gryphon's upcoming surgery.  He got a bath today and is super fluffed.  Then he accompanied me to work and is all tuckered out sleeping.  Of course, most people are sleeping at this time (except for us nocturnal folk).   I knit a bit of lace yesterday for a dear friend and it is blocking now.  Pics to come when it is dry.  It's a doily.

Don't you just love that word?  DOILY  Who ever came up with that?  I like the way it rolls off the tongue.  Like the word salve.  Teagan and I like to share words we find interesting.  She had a fascination with the name Todd for a long time and would laugh hysterically whenever she said it.  Then it was blob, then blah, blah, blah.  The last Lemony Snicket story had us laughing at henchmen and hinterlands.

We haven't had Teagan with us for weeks now and we miss her.  It's sad when they grow up, but happy too.  She is going into grade 6 this year at the middle school so will be a year of new adventures for her.  Having her brother and sister live with them for this next year is truly an adventure as well.  I must say, for having been an only child for 11 years, she has welcomed them with open arms.  I'll have to get some pics of them together.

I just discovered a new book series based in NH.  The Booktown Mystery series is all about life in a small NH town that references places close to us here.  It's cool to hear them traveling down 101 or the White Mts. and local companies like Squamscott Beverages.  I'm on Book 2 and have Book 3 on hold.  I highly recommend them.

Thought for the day:  Life resembles a novel more often than novels resemble life - George Sand
